Why is long term weight loss so difficult? We know that all diets work to get the weight off (if we stick to them) but what usually happens then? For the majority of us we can end up heavier than we were before.

It’s not difficult to imagine how damaging this repeating pattern can be on our physical and emotional health. I have met clients who have been yo-yo dieting for 20 years or more. Why do we keep doing something that isn’t working?

The problem with most weight loss plans is twofold:

• the one size fits all approach which assumes we are all the same (we are not!)

• never getting to the underlying reasons for hanging onto the weight. This, in my experience is fundamental.

Our relationship with food is complex – we are complex. My approach is to help you understand why you overeat – I am less concerned with what you eat. In fact I won’t give you an eating plan because I am not a nutritionist. In any case we all know what we should be eating don’t we?

I offer a number of approaches and will tailor a plan specifically for you, your preferences and your lifestyle.
